So we’ve learned what ads can do for us, but how exactly do I get them to work for me?
You pay of course, and ad payment is basically divided into two main categories:
CPC
or, Cost Per Click: You pay each time someone clicks on the ad. The user is potentially interested in your ad and therefore worth the payment.
CPM
or, Cost Per Mille: You pay for every thousand times the ad is shown. You might even get a thousand clicks and still pay only once for the thousand visualisations.
Putting it all together
- Choose the right ad format for the channel you want to find new clients on.
- Find the strategy you want to use, whether CPC or CPM to gain more clicks and optimise your budget.
- Monitor and analyse your digital marketing ads’ performance to make sure you made the right choices, and adjust accordingly.
- Learn from your past choices and make better ads with time.
