The new age of shopping

Are you still looking at the printed IKEA catalog before driving down to the store to get your new bedside table? I’ve got news for you: shopping has evolved. Again.

Bots

Facebook’s most buzzed about new feature, inspired by Telegram’s chat bots, Facebook’s Messenger chat bots work like a little Siri or Google Search inside your chat window, while chatting with a page.

It will help you find information, products or services, right out off the chat window, without alt-tabbing or multi-tasking in any way.

After their first flop with incomprehensible conversations with a very limited bot, they’ve decided to add buttons to the conversation, which was definitely the right direction to go.

Now Techcrunch is saying that Voice is chat’s new battleground but I’m dubious that the Ironman – J.A.R.V.I.S scenario is going to be here anytime soon.

Ads

Ads? yes, ads!

Ads are surely neither the new kid on the block nor are they the hot thing now, but Google have managed to turn even that into a brand new experience.

Their new Shop The Look search results carousel is what every fashion blogger was working for. They enhance your SERP with actual products you might want to buy, showing them to you first as they are mixed and matched by a featured fashion blogger.

After choosing the look you want, Google will give you an array of product ads linking directly to an online store selling them.
