Don’t thank me all at once

There’s enough Shay for everybody. I am full of tips and tricks like these, so just hang on!

First off: Images

How annoying is it to have to look for the perfect photo? And when searching on stock photos websites, there are ALWAYS too many of them to be able to choose from, which always makes you wish you had a time and money saving technique handy.

I absolutely love Unsplash.com mostly for the quality of the photos, but also because there’s just one of each, so you won’t waste time having to choose between your 2-3 top choices. Plus, it’s free!

Another website I love is Gratisography. It’s actually where I get the photos for my blog now (I used unsplash.com before). I like it more because it has some wacky photos there, to which I can connect more. People who know me personally will agree, I’m more of a dude with a horse-head type of guy.

After having found our photos: we edit them

Which usually means paying for some high-end photo editing software, of which we will use about 4%, to crop the photo, or add a nifty Vignette. Wouldn’t you love a good time and money saving technique for this?

My personal favorites are divided in two parts this time: Photo editing and image decoration (for text overlay and such).

Pixlr is a free-to-use online photo editor by Autodesk, which is quick and easy to use with photos you have on your local drive or somewhere online (via link). The only caveat is that it uses flash to run, so meh…

For the decoration part I just love Canva for quick and easy image decoration, social media image creation and so on. They have tons of pre-designed elements that you can use or take inspiration from.
