Listen and you shall be heard

Listen to your audience so that they will feel more encouraged to listen to what you have to say. Social media is social, right?

Listen to your audience if you want to be listened to

As I tend to repeat myself, I’m going to forgive you if you skip forward to the summary in the end and don’t want to listen.

But unless you believe, like I do, that everything someone says has importance, you’re should listen all the way through.

Because social media is social

Which is exactly why listening to both parts (the brand’s social media pages, but mostly, the audience) is oh so very important. Basically, it’s a circle. If you want to know what to do on social media, you should ask and listen to the answer. Afterwards, whatever you do according to these conversations, you’re gonna need feedback so as to understand whether what you have done has been welcomely received by your audience, and so on.

Don’t make assumptions that “that’s what they want to know about”, simply because you believe it’s important. Same goes to social media posts as to blog posts and even stuff you write on your website’s homepage.

Content is king – and all that jazz

Great slogans and marketing stunts make people remember and adhere to what we want them to, what we, as marketers, business owners and social media managers are trying to make them Like, buy, follow, click or consume.

What’s to be understood, between the lines of that title, is that content is important.

“No shit” you say, “of course it’s important what I’m writing all around the internet”.
And I would say that you’re right, it IS a no brainer. Our audience deserves only the best, since they are our clients, or potential clients. But what if I told you there’s an easy way to know what to write and what it is they actually want to read?
